Closure of a Charity Sale of Works of Art 2014
BGN 37,500 were collected during a Charity Campaign 2014 of St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation whose closing event took place yesterday at Graffit Gallery. More than 90 works of art were sold and the funds will be spent on support of homes for children without parental care Drugarche, Knyaginya Nadezhda in Varna and special boarding school St. St. Cyril and Methodius, the village of Krivnya.
During this year's sale, the Foundation included more than 200 works of art by more than 80 authors from Bulgaria and abroad, among which some of the best and world renowned artists – Vasil Petrov, Stoimen Stoilov, Svetlin Nenov, Pavel Mitkov as well as talented Bulgarian authors.
For the fourth year in a row, St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation gave the Art Donor placard to the people with the greatest input for the foundation's activity. This year, Art Donors of St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation are:
- Artist Stoimen Stoilov
- Alexander Nikolov from film production and distribution company Artin Vision
- Todor Nikolaev – manager of Pandora EOOD
- Rumen Kunchev – manager of Prisma OOD
Children from home Drugarche had a special appearance in the artistic programme whereas the boys and girls from home Knyaginya Nadezhda had prepared a dance hip-hop mix especially for the event.
Organisers had also prepared arts workshops for origami due to the schools “Palitra” (Palette) and “Srachni ratse” (Skilful hands) to Municipal Children's Complex Varna.
With the help of artist Svetlin Nenov, they drew live and jointly created their Christmas wishing tree.
The campaign received the support of many business people, politicians, artists and musicians, among whom Mihaela Fileva and VenZy as well as the actor Marian Vulev. Official guests of the night were His Eminence Yoan, the Metropolitan of Varna and Veliki Preslav, Ivan Portnih, the Mayor of Varna Municipality, and Stoyan Pasev, the Regional Manager of Varna Region.
The funds raised during the Charity Campaign 2014 will be sufficient to meet the goals which St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation has set:
- Securing the annual repair activities in the three institutions;
- Continuing the scholarship programmes established in the areas: “Social Activities and Social Management”, “Tourism” and “Arts”;
- Organisation of various extracurricular activities for the children – sports, arts, educational and professional courses, etc.
1. Celebration of the children's book and drawing on the occasion of April 2 – International Children's Book Day and birthday of Hans Christian Andersen.
2. Organisation of a children's celebration on the occasion of June 1 – the International Children's Day.
3. Securing educational materials and accessories for children on the occasion of the start of the academic year – September 15.
Starting today, 4 December 2014, the collection of St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation will be on display again in the art area of Azalia Hotel & SPA in St. St. Constantine and Elena resort.  Anyone willing to help socially disadvantaged children can do so by:
