Charity initiative on the occasion of the International Children's Book Day - Closing

For the fifth year in a row, St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation celebrated in an untraditional way April 2, the International Children's Book Day and birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, with a charity initiative “Donate a Children's Book – Create Magic”.

This campaign is essential to us since we would like to contribute to the development of talents, creative imagination and uniqueness of children, as well as to help socially disadvantaged youngsters not only by improving the living conditions of institutions they live in but also by providing books and materials developing their creativity.

This year round, the campaign took place along three main lines:

Pan-urban campaign for collecting old children's books – from April 2 to May 8 anyone could donate new or used children's books. As at campaign closure, more than 450 books were showcased in  St. St. Constantine and Helena resort for charity sale.  The funds collected are intended for the three children's institutions which St. St. Constantine and Helena Foundation traditionally supports – homes for children deprived of parental care Drugarche and Knyaginya Nadezhda in the town of Varna as well as special boarding school St. St. Cyril and Methodius in the village of Krivnya.  The editions which were not sold will be handed over to the library funds of the homes.
