BGN 10 220 raised by "St. St. Constantine and Helena" Foundation to help children in need

BGN 10 220 were raised at the Charity gala, organized by "St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding" AD, which by tradition was in hotel&SPA "Azalia". The money, raised by the sale of paintings, auctions and donations will be spent to support the boarding school for handicapped children "St. St. Cyril and Methodius" in Krivnia, and the homes for children "Knijaginia Nadezhda" and "Drugarche". 18 works of art in total were sold - paintings, small sculptures, handmade mother-of-pearl cups. At a secret bidding auction was reached the highest price of a work of art - BGN 1300 for the painting "Hope" by Pavel Mitkov. Another masterpiece – "Winter Tale" by the same author, was sold too. The painting "Sail Ship" by the 10-year old Denislava Veleva, who is from the School for disadvantaged children and youths "Dedal", had also found its new noble owner.
The unique hat "Bellora" for "Astera" made by the diva in headgear Violeta Ilieva for the fifth birthday of the hotel&casino "Astera" remained in the possession of the hotel as they convincingly won the bidding. The sculpture "Key" by Nenko Chernev, ordered by "St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding" AD for the fifth anniversary of the hotel&SPA "Azalia", however has a new owner. The two exhibits were presented to the audience by Virdzhinia Mutafchieva - Miss St. St. Constantine and Helena 2009, and Alisa Ganeva - Miss Astera 2009 and Miss Varna 2009. The special guests at the party - the children from the home "Knijaginia Nadezhda" danced and enjoyed themselves during the performances of Beloslava . The string quartet of the Varna Philharmonic, directed by Gancho Ganev, brought exquisite Christmas spirit.
87 works in total by leading Bulgarian authors were exhibited in the lobby bar of hotel "Azalia". Among them were works by Svetlin Nenov, Nenko Chernev, Vasil Petrov, Nikola Nikolov, Darin Sotirov, Kiril Yanev etc., some of which were donated by the authors and by courtesy of Gallery "Active Art". In the charity sale were shown paintings by children from the School for disadvantaged children and youths "Dedal" and the money from the sale will be divided in equal parts for the development of the school and for the children in need that are supported by "St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding" JSC.
The Christmas Charity gala of "St. St. Constantine and Helena Holding" JSC is part of the initiative Art Fund - Art for children in need, which from now on is an open and around-the-clock initiative by the newly founded "St. St. Constantine and Helena" Foundation. Anyone who wishes to help the children can join the noble idea by:
- donating their own or other works of art to the Foundation;
- buying works of art for their collections or as a gift to somebody else;
- donating money to the Foundation into the following bank account:
