Charity Sale of Black-And-White and Full-Colour Drawings of Stoimen Stoilov

On 9 April 2012 at Graffit Gallery at 18:30 hours within the scope of exhibition of “From a Sketch to a Finished Work of Art”, a charity sale of 20 black-and-white and full-colour drawings of eminent Varna artist Stoimen Stoilov will be held. The funds raised by the noble gesture of the author, in partnership with the Sts. Constantine and Helena Foundation, will be donated in support of children's homes Drugarche, Nadezhda and the special school Sts. Cyril and Methodius in the village of Krivnya.

Stoimen Stoilov


Stoimen Stoilov was born in 1944 in Varna. He graduated from the National Arts Academy in Sofia in 1972. He is one of the founders of the International Biennial of Graphic Art and is part of the live of the arts guild in the city for more than 40 years, although after the devastating fire in his workshop in 1991, he moved to live in Vienna.

He has more than 20 independent exhibitions and a number of participations in international fori, among which the Autumn Salon in Paris, Art Expo, New York, the US; Biennial of Graphic Art, Sao Paolo Brazil.

He has 8 awards, among which the Starta Planina First Degree Order (2010), the lifetime achievement award “Gottfried von Herder” from the University of Vienna (1991). in 2009, the Austrian Ministry of Culture conferred him a professorial degree for contribution to the fine arts of the country.

His works of art are property of national and private collections in Bulgaria and abroad, among which are the Museum of Graphic Art Albertina, Vienna, the National Arts Gallery – Sofia, City Gallery – Varna, National Arts Museum, Bogota, National Fund of Contemporary Art, Paris, Collection Ludvig, Aachen, Pushkin Museum, Moscow, the Congress Library of the US, Washington, universities Princeton and Yale.
